How does a republic differ from a constitutional monarchy? BEST ANSWER QUICK,?

A Republic doesn't have a head of state who gets the position by right of birth, i.e. being the son or daughter of someone who was also the head of state. Clic example: Romans threw out Tarquin the Proud, the last king of Rome, and gave the same position to the consuls, who were elected once a year.
