Would it be ethically wrong to strip prisoners of their human rights?

Surely the likes of Ian Huntley should be locked in a cage with no TV etc and let out for maybe 30 minutes a day to execise. Why should someone convicted of murder have any rights at all. Prison should mean that all privileges of freedom are lost and perhaps then it would deter people from crime. Also, parole or time off for good behaviour should be scrapped. If the crime merits 10 years then make them do 10 years.
