If The Iraqi People Do Not Want Our Presence In Their Country, Why Not Start Withdrawing 12-31-08?

The government may want us to go but my husband says that he has Iraqi citizens beg him and his troops all the time to not leave......we have made great progress over there and bowing out now will undermine it......if you do not have first hand knowledge of what is actually happening over there how can you propose to know the solution?
