Why does my labrador still have so much energy?

i knew what i was asking for when i got a lab, but he's turning seven soon and most ppl's labs or goldens usually calm down after about 6 years of age. He still runs in circles around the yard for hours. slams into fences cuz he hasnt learned to slow down yet. I mean, he even runs next to me when im biking even though he has torn up paws. i cant tell when they are bleeding cuz he just keeps running. Whenever ppl come over he jumps up to their eye level. He's broken two choker collars and he's only 65 pounds. Is there something i should do to calm him down a bit because im afraid he's gonna hurt himself cuz i dont think his body can keep up with his energy level in the future.
